Creasing after a couple of hours |
As you can tell, the color barely shows up on my eyes... Although the golden shimmer is definitely there

Size comparison with the tinted lip balm and cream eyeliner
The cream eyeshadow's definitely bigger, but comparable with the tinted lip balm
Pros
- Good value
- Enhances shimmer of powder shadows
Cons
- Sheer pigmentation on its own
- Not the most creamy consistency
- Does crease slightly on my oily lids
Value
$3 for 0.35 oz / 10 g
This is twice the size of a MAC Paint Pot, if only the E.L.F. was as pigmented...
Verdict
I usually don't care for cream eyeshadow, because the ones I've tried ALWAYS crease on me. However, I read reviews somewhere that these are crease-resistant, and of course I had to try it. This definitely doesn't crease as much as say, Revlon Illuminance Creme shadow, BUT it does crease on my oily lids after about 4 hours without a primer. If you don't wear a super dark color where your eyelid tend to crease, it's not too noticeable.
The consistency of this is kind of strange, it's not hard to get product on your fingers but it's definitely not super smooth or creamy.
This color swatches beautifully before you blend it out, and the color does not show up on my eyes... With a powder eyeshadow it's okay, but I wish I could just wear this alone since I barely have any time in the morning.
Repurchase?
Probably not, but I will use this up since the golden shimmer is nice when you don't want BAM eyeshadow on your eyes.
thanks for the review.
ReplyDeletei don't use cream shadow for the same reason. my powder shadows show up pretty nicely with primer anyway. have you tried elf studio shimmer palette? this is nice as well. ;)
@ L e n a I wish I could find a cream shadow that doesn't crease so I can wear eyeshadow on the go. I haven't tried it, is it just shimmer?
ReplyDeletemaybe you might wanna try benefit creaseless? i've heard good things about it.
ReplyDeletethe elf palette is 4 light shimmery cream shadow/base. slightly different tones like white, light pink, beige, etc. it creases by itself, but does a good job intensifying powder shadow color without altering it too much. ;)
