Creamy texture, softer

Jill Stuart is a Japanese brand with an American designer's name - as you can see on the label it's owned by Kose. Not sure if they're super popular outside of Japan, I saw it being sold at the Hong Kong airport, not sure where else. I also have their powder foundation and blush (post here). I heard about this brand years ago (like 10+ years?) from a Youtuber who was really into high end Japanese beauty. For me, Jill Stuart's main selling point is the crystal like packaging. The product is decent as well, but I don't think it's super worth buying unless you're a packaging fanatic like me. If there is one product actually worth getting, it's the powder foundation - it has pretty good coverage and looks good on the skin.

The texture of Rouge Lip Blossom is nice, 103 is a nude that's more wearable and feels comfortable. I prefer more pink nudes, this is more of a tan nude that goes well with darker eye looks or a "no makeup" look. In China this would be called a "milk tea" color.

I purchased a Jill Stuart lippie a year or 2 years ago (post here) but the color was an unflattering pink.

In case anyone noticed I haven't posted in a while, it's because I was busy with tax season (I prepare tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. The deadlines for extensions are in September and October). But also, I've been using Wordpress because the Blogger app is no longer available in the Apple App Store :/ probably because no one really uses it.

Macy's had a buy 2 minis get 1 free lipstick a few weeks ago, so I purchased some. As you can tell they all look kind of neutral... But the swatches show what they actually look like

If you're familiar with MAC lipsticks, you know they generally smell like vanilla. They don't go on as smoothly as I thought they would, but you can tell the lipsticks are good quality

Idk if you can tell but I think it makes my lips very textured, almost too much so.

The wear of this product is no joke. Unfortunately, all the color are too unnatural for my taste. This nude is too light, and the other colors are too bright or too dark. The packaging is actually pretty cute, if they expanded the range I would try a different color

I'm back with another color!

After the pink one I was a bit discouraged from this line, but when I went to Walmart to return it, I saw the Walmart I went to had full stock of every color. I chose a neutral one so even if  I don't love it I could probably give it to a friend. This color is a bit of a paler pink nude, on my complexion, but it pairs well if a darker eye look

LIPSTICK | Tatcha Cherry Blossom Lipstick

$55 for 3.7 g

As you can see the packaging is quite elaborate and high quality. I have two other Tatcha products and they're all like this. The weight of the lid is quite heavy in a luxurious way, but this lipstick is basically all packaging. The lipstick itself is very mediocre

It's not super matte but it's not dewy either, I am kind of sad the surface is ruined after using it once. I would only buy this if you're a lipstick connoisseur/hoarder/collector

Excuse the chapped lips, but the Maybelline lipsticks perform pretty well even if my lips are dry

This is a bit darker than I imagined, it looks more like a pink nude online, but it's definitely an appropriate color for fall

It's not super long wearing but it is very comfortable

I am a sucker for inexpensive products that perform better than some higher end products out there

I first heard about this from Tati on Youtube, but at the time the colors I wanted were constantly sold out at Target and even on the WnW website. After a few weeks I finally got my hands on these

At $5 for 0.21 oz / 6 g, these are the cheapest liquid lipsticks I've seen

Even ColourPop is $6 for 0.11 oz / 3.2 g (which is 1/2 the product of the WnW, FYI)

They are fragrance free, long wearing with pretty good pigmentation. They are a little drying but I think that's the price you pay for a long lasting lip. It cracks a little bit if you don't apply it correctly or apply too much, but play around with it and it's easy to work with. 

I personally like Nudist Peach bc it's more neutral and peachy. Coral Corruption is a much brighter, coral pink. If you see these at Target and you're into liquid lips, I HIGHLY recommend this.

MATTE LIPS | Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lipcolor in Looking for Truffle

I was scared this would be too brown but it's actually a nice natural nude-y brown.

This is a very comfortable lip pencil that is truly "velvet" matte but the creamy formula isn't really long wearing. It's also not super pigmented, I have to go over it to get an opaque color. For $3.50 at Walgreens you can't beat it :)

Verdict

I got this for free in a Target kit that a cosmetic specialist gave me one day a couple weeks ago, I never saw a salesperson in the specifically for the cosmetic aisle again, I could only assume it wasn't as effective as Target had hoped. I've owned NYX lipsticks before and they've always been consistently creamy and pigmented, the only flaw is the wear of the lipsticks. Although I've learned that the reality of lip products is if it's drier, it stays. If it's creamy and moisturizing, then it'll wipe away easily. 

Pure Nude would've been great back in... 2008 or 2009? When nude lips were all the rave. Most people are into bright lips or dark colors now from what I've seen.

This is a cute color if you're into nudes, I think it washes me out too much unless I'm wearing a smokey eye.

Repurchase?

Probably not. Lipstick takes too long to use up

Would I recommend it?

Not in particular, this line of NYX lipsticks isn't very long wearing, but there's a large color selection if you're willing to reapply
