K-Palette 1 Day Lash Perm Tattoo Mascara

Main problem with this mascara is it doesn't hold a curl. If your lashes are not straight like mine I think it is ok to try as it does define your lashes.
$12+ depending on where you purchase it

MASCARA | It Cosmetics Superhero mascara

Happy 4th of July!

Sephora Description:
What it is:
A game-changing mascara that gives lashes the appearance of volume, length, and elastic stretch in just one coat.

What it does:
Developed with plastic surgeons, Superhero™ mascara is like skin care for your lashes. The proprietary Elastic Stretch Technology stretches the look of your lashes wider and longer, and wraps each individual lash in a volume-boosting, lengthening, ultra-conditioning coat of support and color for the strongest, thickest, most defined results. Powerful lash-lifting polymers, volumizing collagen, strengthening biotin, proteins, and peptides combined with super black pigment and the Lash-Changing Power Brush work together to coat every lash from base to tips. Lashes are lifted and separated to create a fuller lash line and to ensure that no lash is left behind. The super-buildable formula takes your lashes to new heights. Simply apply more coats for additional volume and length.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
This product was developed with surgeons and dermatologists. It is clinically tested, talc-free, and cruelty-free.

I got this mascara in the last ipsy bag
This mascara gives quite a bit of length and volume, I would actually consider buying the full size of this. It still smudges unfortunately, but this is definitely worth trying if non waterproof mascaras work out for you.

$24 for 0.3 oz from Ulta, Sephora, etc.

Sidenote - I am obsessed with alpacas. Aren't they absolutely adorable?

MASCARA | Too Faced Better Than Sex Mini

Sephora Description:
What it is:
An intensely black, volumizing mascara with an hourglass-shaped brush that separates, coats, and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection.

What it does:
Inspired by the curves of a woman’s body, the hourglass-shaped brush was designed with extra stiff bristles to maximize the performance of this carbon black, collagen-fueled formula. One coat and lashes are full and defined. Two coats and lashes are even more luscious, curled, and dramatic. Three coats help you achieve the most intense, black, multidimensional lashes possible.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens

What else you need to know:
Better Than Sex mascara contains a film-forming polymer for smudge-proof, all day wear and unique peptides for the deepest, intense black possible.

I may have found a way to make non waterproof mascara work
If you just do one coat from the base and keep working at the tips with the mascara, you might be able to get away with a less straight curl (it still makes my lashes a little straight but not so much it's completely straight)

I'm not wowed by this mascara, but I understand why people really like it. It gives good volume and decent length, but it is not smudge proof unfortunately - I think drugstore mascaras are just as good, like my favorite Maybelline one (review here).

The mini size was only $12 for 0.17 oz / 4.8 g

This is what I mean about smudging a few hours in. Actually it's not as bad as I thought but it gets annoying sometimes

MASCARA | Almay Get Up and Grow Extreme Length

Not sure if you can tell... But the wand is HUGE. Like, longer than my eye

This was on clearance at Walmart for $3.50 so ofc I couldn't resist.
I quite enjoyed this mascara bc it's natural looking. Except 2 hours in, it started smudging on my undereye. Granted, mascara will always smudge on me (that's just how my lashes roll) but 2 hours is a bit too fast.

Probably will pass this along to someone who doesn't have that problem

MASCARA | Kiko Extra Sculpt Waterproof Mascara

Price
$14 for 0.37 oz / 11 ml
Kiko has free shipping over $15 so that's always good

If you watch KathleenLights, you know this is probably her favorite mascara (although I think she uses the washable version)
Unfortunately, for my thin, straight, long ish lashes - these didn't even hold a curl!
They seem decently lengthening and volumnizing but a bit clumpy (as the formula seems a bit dry) and the wand is huge. If you always struggle with getting mascara on your upper lid, these would be a nightmare. It also seems to smudge on my under eye more so than my Maybelline mascaras. My favorite to use recently has been the Falsies Push Up Angel (review here). Honestly Maybelline just makes good mascaras.

All in all a fail :/ the curl-holding thing is VERY important. I actually saw an Asian Youtuber saying that the Extra Sculpt didn't work out for her, but waterproof mascaras at the least hold a curl, so I didn't take her word for it.

Repurchase?
No.

Would I recommend it?
Only if your lashes don't have problems staying curled.

MASCARA | Maybelline the Falsies Push Up Angel Waterproof

Maybelline's description:
The Falsies effect gets angel wings! Exclusive Push-Up Wing brush sweeps lashes to the side, while lifting and plumping from the roots.

Right eye
Left eye

It's not really separating, but it does make a difference on my lashes. Unfortunately it's not super defining so it "clumps" 2-3 lashes together to make like 10 clumps. I notice it's kind of hard to find a volumnizing mascara that doesn't clump a little bit, probably why I like Maybelline Lash Sensational so much

Price
$7-10 for 0.33 oz

Would I recommend it?
Sure

Would I repurchase?
Nah

MASCARA | Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Waterproof

Pros
Natural looking
Not clumpy

Cons
Not super volumnizing
Easily stains your eyelids

Price
$21 for 0.24 oz / 7 ml

Verdict
I'm not particularly taken with any high end mascaras, but this one seems to have good reviews so I was excited to try it. Upon application I wasn't disappointed, but my thin, long lashes could use the extra oomph that volumnizing mascaras offer. The packaging is cute ish but I've seen the purple jacket come loose in stores with the testers, so idk how sturdy they are.
For some reason the brush (the way it's shaped or something) makes it really easy to stain your eyelids, so it could get a little messy
Had I not gotten this with a deal via Tarte, I probably would return this.

Repurchase?
No.

Would I recommend it?
If you like natural looking mascaras

MASCARA | Lancome Grandiose Waterproof

Verdict
I remember being really impressed by the washable version, but this one seems ok, I got it in the summer kit from Sephora. Not sure if it's super pigmented or what, it smudges more on my undereye than any other mascara I own.
I still prefer my Maybelline Lash Sensational waterproof (review here).

Price
$32 for 0.35 oz

See the washable review here

Would I repurchase?
No.

Would I recommend it?
Sure.

Laura Mercier mascara

I finally got my package from Laura Mercier (from Black Friday)
Along with it came a mascara sample of their volumnizing formula

As you can see, my thin lashes fall straight with a nonwaterproof mascara
But it doesn't seem to add much to my lashes anyway, unlike the Lancome Grandiose (review here)

I'm really excited to try the LM translucent powder though
And the LM Souffle Body Cremes are actually very moisturizing, I've been using it as hand cream, they're so cute too!

MASCARA | Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Wet waterproof mascara

Sephora
What it is:
A 24-hour wear, volumizing and waterproof mascara.

What it does:
Get waterproof, lush lashes in just one swipe. This all-in-one mascara provides volume, length, and definition, and it’s formulated with fine, fluid Microfil technology for intensely captivating lash texture. The micro-waxes are blended with a fineness agent to allow for smooth and easy application, creating lightweight volume and length. The oversized patented lash brush features a bristle weave design that coats and texturizes lashes in less strokes—creating a striking lash look that lasts all day.

What else you need to know:
The patented asymmetrical applicator allows for the optimal amount of formula to be loaded onto the brush.

Top | Bare curled lashes
Middle | 1 coat
Bottom | 2 coats

My left lashes are shorter and thinner, so I like to wipe off less mascara when I take out the wand to give more volume.

Pros
Defining
Smudges less than any mascara I've tried
Natural looking
Very waterproof
Holds a curl well

Cons
Makes lashes feel brittle
Expensive

Price
$32 for 0.22 oz

Verdict
If you often have mascara smudging on your undereye (like me), you'll appreciate the lasting power of this mascara in terms of smudging. Raeview says it's budge proof, which might be true depending on how oily/moist your eye area is. It's definitely waterproof but not entirely oil proof (which makes sense, bc how else would we remove it).

Personally I like mascaras that can be built up all at once (like the Maybelline Lash Sensational that I so often mention), instead of waiting for it to dry between coats like the GA. I wasn't wowed by 1 coat but 2 coats definitely do the trick. I actually purchased this full price when I was in Vegas (shocking, I know) and I surprisingly reach for it all the time over my other drugstore mascaras that I love. If I want really dramatic lashes I'll still go to Maybelline, but for a long lasting natural lash - Giorgio Armani is the way to go.

Repurchase?
Maybe.

Would I recommend it?
If you don't mind the price point this is definitely a good mascara to try

REVIEW | Max Factor MasterpieceMax mascara

Pros
Volumnizing
Very dark
Doesn't make lashes brittle

Cons
Doesn't hold a curl
Not really lengthening

Price
$10 for 0.24 oz / 7.2 ml

Verdict
Idk if you all remember when Max Factor was in drugstores, but their packaging always looked the same as CoverGirl except $2 more expensive (so I never bought one). This mascara reminds me of the Lash Exact packaging, size of the tube, wand and all. Upon initial application I was impressed by the volume since my lashes are so thin, but after 10 seconds they immediately fell flat. It also doesn't give that much length, compared to say... The Lancome Grandiose mascara (which is also not waterproof).
If I didn't get this one from Influenster I'd try the waterproof version, I can see the washable version being good for thin, not straight lashes (is that even a thing?)

Honestly. If you have stick straight lashes and have found any washable mascara that works for you, please let me know (: I'd love to try it. I always need a waterproof formula

Repurchase?
No

Would I recommend it?
For thin, long, nonstraight lashes

REVIEW | Smashbox Full Exposure mascara

Pros
Almost no smudging
Natural looking
Lengthening
Not clumpy

Cons
Doesn't really hold a curl
Wand might be too big for some people

Price
$22 for 0.38 oz
Mine is a sample size from the Full Exposure palette

Verdict
If there was a waterproof version of this mascara, I'd try it. It gives very natural looking length and some volume without clumping. I was pleasantly surprised this doesn't smudge too much

Purchase full size?
Not the washable one

Would I recommend it?
Yes. I actually became interested in it after my friend wore it in a photo and I was really impressed by  the way her lashes looked.

MASCARA | CoverGirl Katy Kat waterproof mascara in Very Black

The bristles spiral around the wand, not sure if it does anything but it doesn't clump on my lashes, which is good

Bare lashes > 1 coat > 2 coats

I noticed my left eyelashes always photographs better, the overall length is more consistent and they don't look all crazy

Pros
Lengthening
Doesn't clump
Natural looking

Neutral
Dry formula

Cons
Could fan out the lashes more

Price
$8 for 0.35 oz / 10.5 ml

Verdict
I am pleasantly surprised by this mascara. I honestly just bought it bc it's new and the tube is cute, but any mascara that makes my lashes visible on top of eye makeup without clumping is good in my book. I think this is comparable to my holy grail (the Maybelline Lash Sensational, review here), although the CoverGirl has a much drier formula, so it depends on what formula usually works better for you.
This Super Sizer (review here) is a bit more volumnizing but it clumps too much for my taste.

This mascara will be available in stores in July, I bought mine off Amazon.

I know it seems like I try a lot of mascaras, I love my Maybelline ones but I can never resist new things with cute packaging. This mascara also comes in blue, but not waterproof so I passed

Repurchase?
Yes.

Would I recommend it?
Yes.

Minimal smudging - I was pretty impressed, I reach for this more than my Maybelline Lash Sensational now. Although I find when I remove it w cleansing oil it tends to get in my eye?

REVIEW | Maybelline Colossal Spider Effect waterproof mascara

Closer look at the brush

If you curl your lashes right the first time, this mascara doesn't clump, good stuff

Pros
Very volumnizing

Cons
Could get clumpy
Not super lengthening

Price
$6+ for 0.32 oz / 9.5 ml

Verdict
Unfortunately, this isn't as lengthening as my holy grail Lash Sensational (review here). If you don't curl your lashes right it could get clumpy (by that I mean your lashes are all straight, not diagonal where it intersects with other lashes, as in the first lash photo).
Otherwise it's very volumnizing, I like it!

Repurchase?
No, I will continue repurchasing the Lash Sensational.

Would I recommend it?
If you like a lot of volume and don't mind brushes your lashes out a bit.
