REVIEW | Supergoop SPF 50 Setting Mist

Hi everyone
Sorry I've been kind of MIA, been busy studying for the CPA
Anywho, I thought I'd review a product I've been carrying in my purse for a few months

Sephora description:
What it is:
An innovative three-in-one mist that sets makeup, helps control oil and shine, and refreshes your defense against photoaging UV rays with an uplifting scent of rosemary and mint.

What it is formulated to do:
The secret to totally sun-safe skin is reapplying your UV defense at least every two hours when in direct sunlight. Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 is the best way to reapply UV protection throughout the day without disturbing your makeup. The formula includes a unique makeup setting ingredient that acts by creating a sheer shield, which dries quickly about five seconds after application. Optical diffusing silica silylate further helps to control oil and reduces shine leaving skin feeling soft and smooth with a matte finish, not oily nor greasy as with many sunscreen products. The formula is enlivened with an invigorating essence of antioxidant-rich rosemary to help improve the complexion and soothe inflammation.

What else you need to know:
Inspired by the trends in mists, Supergoop!’s founder, Holly Thaggard, wanted to provide a product that would deliver the benefits of a makeup-setting spray while acting as a refreshing afternoon pick-me-up, but with the added and necessary age preventative benefit of broad-spectrum SPF 50 UV protection.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates

What else you need to know:
This product is clinically tested, noncomedogenic, non-irritating, and allergen-free. It is formulated without synthetic fragrance and oxybenzone.

Ingredients
-Avobenzone 3.0%
-Homosalate 4.0%
-Octinoxate 6.0%
-Octisalate 3.0%

Alcohol Denat, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Isododecane, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Silica Silylate, Water, PVP, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Stem/Leaf Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil.

Directions
-Shake well! It is very important to shake vigorously prior to each and every use. This allows the UV protective and makeup setting sheer shield ingredients to be evenly emulsified and distributed.
-Hold the bottle 10 to 12 inches from the face
-Pull hair back, close your eyes and pull in your lips
-Spray seven to 10 times, working in a circle around your entire face—keep eyes closed and lips tucked for about three seconds after application.
-Best applied after makeup application to lock it in place, but can also be used on a bare face.
-Use throughout the day no less than every two hours when in direct sun

Pros
Smells refreshing (like rosemary)
Travel friendly
Good for easy SPF touchups on bare skin

Cons
Chemical sunscreen doesn't work on top of makeup
Small bottle doesn't spray evenly
Could sting a bit if your skin is dry

Price
$12 for 1 oz / 30 ml

Verdict
Hopefully you can tell from the photo below, but the nozzle doesn't spray evenly. Typically setting sprays like the UD All Nighter spray a very fine mist. I haven't tested the 100 ml size, so that one may spray better, but it is a bit unpleasant to get squirts on your face.
Also, if you go on Sephora's reviews for this product, there are a lot of 1 star reviews because this is a chemical sunscreen, which has to be absorbed by the skin to be effective, making it a bit useless on top of makeup in terms of SPF protection.

Repurchase?
Due to the ease of sun protection, I will put up w the squirting

Would I recommend it?
If you don't wear makeup when you need some extra SPF boost
