MATTE LIPS | Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lipcolor in Looking for Truffle

I was scared this would be too brown but it's actually a nice natural nude-y brown.
This is a very comfortable lip pencil that is truly "velvet" matte but the creamy formula isn't really long wearing. It's also not super pigmented, I have to go over it to get an opaque color. For $3.50 at Walgreens you can't beat it :)

LIQUID LIPSTICK | HudaBeauty Lip Contour Set

Happy Thanksgiving!
I've been doing quite a bit of Black Friday shopping, my wallet hurts :'(

I took advantage of the 20% off VIB sale that Sephora had, and this is one of my favorites! Hope you guys enjoy

--------------------------------------

In Trendsetter / Bombshell

Honestly I don't really care about my lips looking full, but this is helpful for people who are into that

Top: Trendsetter lip liner alone
Bottom: Trendsetter alone

Top: Bombshell w Trendsetter Lipliner
Bottom: Bombshell alone

At the end of the day - not too shabby except for that whole "butthole" thing going on (I literally heard this term yesterday on Buzzfeed and now I see it everywhere)

Top: Trendsetter (brown nude)
Bottom: Bombshell (pinkier nude)

Pros
Two complementary lip colors in one
Liquid formula easy to apply
Pigmented

Cons
Lip liner seems a bit dry

Price
$24 for 0.042 oz pencil
2 x 0.064 oz liquid lipsticks

Verdict
This color is very Kylie Jenner-esque to me. I didn't think these colors would look good with my skin tone, but Bombshell looks quite natural, and Trensetter is a brown-nude that I do not own and actually look ok to me.
The lipstick seems to take a bit of time to dry, and the applicator has a lot of product on it, maybe too much considering all liquidy the texture of the formula is.
This has pretty good lasting power, but if you wear it for a long time your lips will be a bit dry. Yesterday the inner part of my bottom lip kind of peeled (I did eat some oily foods for dinner so that might have contributed to it)

Repurchase?
Yes, if I ever run out of this

Would I recommend it?
Yes.

Trendsetter - it's very brown, but I kind of like it!

LIPS | ColourPop Lippie Stix (Fiesta) & Pencil (Rocket)

Left | Lippie Pencil in Rocket (bright pinky coral)
The photo on the website makes it seem like it might be a chubby pencil, but I guess not
Right | Lippie Stix in Fiesta (light peachy pink cream)

Fiesta
This translates to more of a bubblegum pink on me, very pale... Not the most flattering

Rocket
Cute neon pinky coral color, a bit bright but I like it

Fiesta on top of Rocket

Pros
Pigmented
Vanilla fragrance
Creamy
Inexpensive

Cons
Accentuates lip texture (need to prep very well)

Verdict
These two lippies did not turn out to to be what I expected, but mixing them seems to make a cute coral color. Unfortunately these are bit high maintenance for me, having to exfoliate my lips and whatnot to make it look perfect... But from afar you can't really tell. I probably wouldn't wear these a lot unless I want to mix it, the two by themselves is a bit unwearable for my taste.
I tend to reach for moisturizing formulas these days out of laziness

Price
$5 for 0.0352 oz / 1 g
The Lippie Stix and Lippie Pencil contain the same amount of product, which is fine for me since I don't really use up lipstick ever, but a bit misleading in my opinion - usually lipsticks have 3 g in the bullet.

Repurchase?
Maybe.

Would I recommend it?
For the price I think it's a good buy if you found a color you really like.

SWATCH | NARS Satin/Velvet Matte Lip Pencils (Sephora Birthday Gift 2015)

Here's what the container it comes in looks like

Velvet Matte - Cruella (scarlet red)

Satin Lip Pencil - Rikugien (rose pink)

Pros
Lightweight
Pigmented
Creamy
Easy to control application

Cons
Not twist up
Expensive

Price
$26 for 0.086 oz (full size)
These deluxe samples are 0.05 oz / 1.7 g

Verdict
I probably wouldn't buy these if it wasn't free, but I do like the colors they give you.
Cruella is kind of a snow white red on my complexion, not a dark red as a swatch seems to show. Rikugien is surprisingly a natural pink color, I thought it was going to be frosty when I swatched it.

Purchase?
Mayyybe the peach color.

Would I recommend it?
Yes, but I personally wouldn't spend $26 on a lip product unless I LOVED the color and couldn't find it in any drugstore brand.
