BB CUSHION | Clinique Super City Block BB SPF 50

Very saturated

I randomly discovered this BB cushion Googling for SPF. There's only 4 shades, but I am pretty impressed by the coverage of this BB cushion. It doesn't seem cakey which is nice, but the fair shade is way too pink for my yellow-toned skin. I definitely need a colored powder to adjust the color a bit. One thing I can't stand about cushions is it seems to sit on top of my skin, so if I accidentally touch my face, a little bit of BB cream wipes off - even after I used a powder to set.I probably should've gotten a darker color for summer, because when else would you need SPF 50? One thing I will say about American BB cushions, it's about the same price as some high end Korean cushions, but it only comes with one compact (usually 0.5 oz). The Korean ones (even if it's cheap) usually come with an extra refill, which I always appreciate. 

The Clinique retails $35 for 0.4 oz / 12 g, luckily I got it half off on the Clinique website. Strangely enough it's not sold at Sephora, but it is at Ulta and Nordstrom.

Verdict

I've been into darker lip colors lately, so I searched through my lipstick collection and found this. I think this is a really nice berry color, very creamy, but I think I still like reds better.

Unlikely, lipsticks last FOREVER for me

Review: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Pros

- Absorbs quickly

- Pump dispenser easy to control

Cons

- Dimethicone is 2nd ingredient (silicone-based)

$24 for 4.2 oz / 125 ml

Verdict

Overall: B+

Unfortunately, this is not moisturizing enough for my cheeks, which are more combination dry. I have just been using this on my t-zone at night and sometimes in the morning.
I purchased this because it seemed really popular on Youtube for a while, but I'd say only oily skin people would find this moisturizing enough. Not sure if this is really good as a makeup primer since my cheeks are too dry to use just this.

Review: Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black (before and after pics included)

Like I wrote in the first picture, please excuse the proportions, I need to get better at taking pictures at the same distance (I hold it with my hands, so the distance varies A LOT)

Pros

- Not clumpy

- Defining

- Decent size classic bristle wand

Cons

- Not a lot of volume

- Very subtle difference in length

- Smudges on my outer undereye (see explanation in Verdict)

Verdict

Because of the way my eyes are shaped (as I learned from a comment on YT), mascaras always smudge on me, it's usually a degree of how badly it smudges. In my experience, CoverGirl mascaras smudge the least but out of the 2 CG waterproof mascaras I've ever tried both still smudged on me.

This mascara doesn't hold a curl on my lashes extremely well, but at least it doesn't make my lashes fall flat, which a lot of washable mascaras do. On that note, this mascara also comes off very easily with water and facial wash.

One thing I'd like to note about this mascara is that it feels light on my lashes. A lot of times mascaras feel slightly irritating on my lashes unless it's a really fresh tube, not sure if that's because my eyes are sensitive or what.

Price

$14.50 for (I'm assuming) 0.26 oz for the typical mascara

Could be more since mine is the sample size at 0.14 oz / 4 g

Repurchase?

Probably not, I'm not into high end mascara and this one's very natural looking.

I find that over time my eyelashes hold a curl better on their own compared to with a mascara, so I don't even use mascaras these days.

Clinique Acne Solutions UPDATE (review)

I actually already returned this set so I don't have individual pictures for each of these products, but here's the breakdown.

Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam

Pros:

- Rich lather

- Cleans well (but drying, see cons)

... That's about all I could come up with

Cons:

- Fairly drying (esp around the cheeks since I have combination skin)

- Strong chemical-y smell (some people might like it, it's not repulsive, but it's just really strong)

- Not much product (4.2 oz of LIQUID cleanser, not gel... You'd probably run out of this first)

- Does not remove makeup (luckily the girl at the counter told me that, and I know that acne cleansers aren't designed to remove makeup, but I've used a lot of drugstore ones that are excellent at removing makeup and treating acne)

Verdict:

Since the cons outweight the pros... Unless you have super oily skin, I don't really recommend it.

Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion

Pros:

- Refreshing, makes pores tingle and feel clean

- Seems to treat acne

Cons:

- Strong chemical smell (seeing a pattern here)

- Slightly drying because of the alcohol (I like alcohol toners, but this could be drying for some)

Verdict:

This is actually my favorite of the 3, but I actually don't have that much good things to say about it. Like I said, if you have oily skin...

Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer

Pros:

- Treats bumps well, not so sure about cystic acne

- Thin consistency, very runny

- Tube packaging is sanitary

- Doesn't feel drying after you put it on, but you'll notice your skin texture looks dry, if that makes sense

Cons:

- Slightly drying if you put it all over your face (if you only put it on your t-zone or wherever is oily it will probably be fine)

- Very strong chemical smell (... yeah)

- Hard to control product (because it's so runny, a lot more than you need would come out)

Verdict:

I might repurchase this one if my skin ever breaks out horribly, but the chemical smell just makes me feel weird putting this on my face...

As you can tell, I'm not a huge fan of this set. I saw that there was a CRAPLOAD of ingredients in these products, and for skincare I feel like that might be too much. I expected more from Clinique, but of course this set may work wonderfully for people with really oily skin, which I don't have.

I noticed after a week of using this that my cheeks were flaky (I actually stopped using the Clearing Moisturizer all over after 2 days) and my face felt dry. I bought Cetaphil cream to get rid of the flakes, which thankfully worked but ...

My skin is actually less oily now, so if you're looking for that... Maybe try this to minimize the oil then stop using it after a couple days?

Keep in mind that
a) I only used this for a week
b) I have combination skin (oily t-zone, normal to slightly oily cheeks)
c) I have breaks outs here and there, not all over my face
