This lipstick is moisturizing but very slippery and not that pigmented. I had to go over the swatch several times to get the color pay off. Granted, this color is totally up my alley and I think it's very cute, but I prefer lipsticks that are more pigmented but still smooth (like the Maybelline ColorSensational)

I got this for like $4 at Target on sale, otherwise I don't really like slippery lipsticks

I was pleasantly surprised by the lasting power of this, since lipsticks usually fade from your inner lip as you eat and drink. However, due to their long wearing capabilities - I have to go over my lips 3 times to remove the lipstick completely, with jojoba oil or a makeup remover. I am not a fan of hard to remove makeup, so I haven't really been using it. If you find a color you like this is definitely worth a try.

MASCARA | CoverGirl Katy Kat waterproof mascara in Very Black

The bristles spiral around the wand, not sure if it does anything but it doesn't clump on my lashes, which is good

Bare lashes > 1 coat > 2 coats

I noticed my left eyelashes always photographs better, the overall length is more consistent and they don't look all crazy

Verdict

I am pleasantly surprised by this mascara. I honestly just bought it bc it's new and the tube is cute, but any mascara that makes my lashes visible on top of eye makeup without clumping is good in my book. I think this is comparable to my holy grail (the Maybelline Lash Sensational, review here), although the CoverGirl has a much drier formula, so it depends on what formula usually works better for you.

This Super Sizer (review here) is a bit more volumnizing but it clumps too much for my taste.

This mascara will be available in stores in July, I bought mine off Amazon.

I know it seems like I try a lot of mascaras, I love my Maybelline ones but I can never resist new things with cute packaging. This mascara also comes in blue, but not waterproof so I passed

Minimal smudging - I was pretty impressed, I reach for this more than my Maybelline Lash Sensational now. Although I find when I remove it w cleansing oil it tends to get in my eye?

Verdict

Upon first swipe this isn't super pigmented, but it might just be the protective layer the lipstick has on the exterior. Not much to say about this lipstick, standard orange/coral.  

Matte lips are a bit high maintenance unless you religiously exfoliate/moisturize your lips. I used to when I was younger, but I don't really wear lipcolor unless it's for photos. I noticed recently that I mostly reach for moisturizing lipsticks out of convenience. 

I purchased Coral Cat because it's a bright color I'll actually reach for.

Repurchase?

No.

Would I recommend it?

To be honest I don't think the wearable colors in this line are super unique unless you're into purple, dark burgundy or black lipsticks (personally I'd never wear them). I would've tried the red if I didn't already have staple red lipsticks (Maybelline ColorSensational Matte and 24HR wear, swatches here and here).

I feel like sometimes the lip swatches alone doesn't show the effect of the color on your face, so here ya go. I always like to wear oranges/corals as opposed to pinks because they're bright but not TOO bright compared to red lipsticks. Also it just complements my complexion better

I've given up on mascaras long ago because they always smudge due to my naturally moist/oily undereye (yes I've tried washable and waterproof), but every now and then when Youtubers hype products up I get tempted to try it.

I noticed this one smudges less on me, the wand is great because the wand of the Maybelline Lash Sensational (review here) is a bit too large to coat every single lash.

The tube is also one of my favorite colors, it's pretty much perfect. The only problem was tracking it down at a good price, Target's and Ulta's near me were out of stock of the black waterproof one, but I finally found it.

Update: I noticed it could be a teensy clumpy since the short brush bristle isn't as defining, keep that in mind.

Repurchase?

No. I need more volume for my thin lashes, but this is one of the better drugstore ones

Huge Makeup and Skincare Haul! Drugstore & High End :)

Hi everyone. Gosh I haven't blogged in months. I hope everyone's doing well! I've been busy with school and work so I haven't had the time to think about blogging.

New Drugstore Products: Maybelline, CoverGirl, Revlon

Target - Maybelline

I had to keep telling myself to get what I actually would use, which are the 24 hr cream shadows and the 24 hr lipsticks. Maybe I'll try the concealer and foundation some time? Hmmm...

Very disappointed in the Flipsticks, the color combinations are terrible...

They also repackaged their LashBlast mascaras and came out with a 24hr one, I think they're all pretty much the same... The cream shadows aren't anything new, but I've yet to try them after seeing bad reviews on makeupalley

CVS - Revlon

Excuse the slightly blurry pic, I'm excited for the foundations, eyeshadow and liner... Sales here we come?

Review: CoverGirl LashExact Waterproof mascara

I just noticed I have a weirdly long eyelash in the inner corner of my eye, what's up with that?

Someone commented that my lashes look like spider legs a while ago... I guess I can try to do a better job of curling them? It's not easy with straight lashes, people!

This is only a little more than half the amount in typical mascaras, which is 7 ml ... Strange, but you probably wouldn't run out unless you use a ton of it anyway.

Verdict

Overall: B-

As with all mascaras, everyone's experience is difference since we all have different type hairs. I would consider my lashes normal thickness and decent length (for an Asian anyway). As expected, the waterproof formula holds up my curl very well... However, this smudges way too much for a waterproof mascara. All mascaras smudge on me one way or another, but I would've expected this one to fare better considering it wasn't even that volumnizing. I do notice that if I put just one coat on it smudges less, and putting a light powder underneath my eyes does help.

If you are looking for a mascara that will define your lashes, this is a nice one to try but don't expect much length or volume. If you have straight lashes like me, this will probably hold your curl very well, unlike most washable mascaras.

Because of the way my eyes are shaped... I need to try one of those fiber mascaras or something that wouldn't smudge on me.

CoverGirl is my favorite drugstore mascara brand because their formula isn't too wet or dry, but I wonder how their other waterproof mascaras smudge on me...

Overall: B-

I threw away the packaging so I am not quite sure what the claims are, but the creamy texture of this tinted lip balm is lovely. The old school lipstick smell is kind of strong, and although it does fade over time, scent in lip products is very important to me. As you might be able to tell from the picture it gives just a bit of shimmer to my lips, and if you build the color up it can look frosty. The pink color doesn't show up much at all, I would not recommend this if you were interested in a pigmented tinted lip balm.

Repurchase?

Not this color. Maybe when they change the scent I'll try some of the darker colors.

Review: CoverGirl TruShine lipsticks

Good thing I didn't rip off the plastic part of the lipstick, because the bottom only has the number for the color, not the actual name

485 Watermelon Shine

I really wish I could go back in time and stop myself from buying this color, because there is no chance that I'll wear this, ever. I don't really feel confident enough to go out in public with this bright a lip color.

410 Coral Shine

Pros

- Buildable color

- Moisturizing

- Nice sheen

Cons

- Flimsy packaging (cap comes off easily)

- Settles into fine lines of the lips after a while

Verdict

Since sheen lipsticks have been kind of in this season, I figured it doesn't hurt to review these. If CoverGirl released these again this season they would've made some more money, hmm.

Overall: A-

Although the product packaging isn't the best, the lipstick itself is pretty good.

Review & Swatches: CoverGirl Wetslicks Amazemint Lip Gloss

Slaphappy - very sheer pink-ish coral

No care bare - sheer medium nude

I would actually recommend this color for a smokey eye, since it has just enough hint of a skintone nude to balance a dark eye.

Pros:

- Minty scent

- Not sticky

- Comfortable wear

- Tingly feeling on lips

Cons:

- Sheer color pay off (could be pro for some)

- Settles into fine line of lips after a while

Verdict:

Because it is said to contain peppermint oil, it smells and tastes like peppermint.

It is not sticky at all and sits very comfortably on my lips. The tingly sensation from the peppermint actually lasts nearly 2 hours for me, much longer than the C.O. Bigelow and Victoria's Secret ones.

Unfortunately, after some time the color does settle into the fine lines of my lips; but luckily, the color is sheer and it doesn't look incredibly obvious. If you look up close my lips might look cracked, so it calls for more gloss.

Value

$4-6 for 0.27 oz / 8 ml

Overall: B+

For the price, I recommend it to anyone who likes a thin, sheer, tingly gloss that has minimal pigmentation.

Repurchase?

If I'm still into lip gloss after I use these two up.

Verdict

While I love the texture of this, I'm not happy with this color. In the tube it looks like a lovely medium pink, but on my lips it turns out to have a purple tone to it. Those who can pull off purple-toned lip colors might like this, but I've learned a few years back that anything purple on my lips make me look unhealthy / dead. I am interested in trying other colors from this line if they're ever in stock at my local Target -_-
