Update + Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

Hello everyone!
Sooo I put this in my last blogpost but I forgot to write update in the title... But basically:

I am done with school for the summer!
Just finished my last final today, relieved but this semester really flew by. So some picture updates:

This is our pledge class t-shirt, not bad eh?

These people are people I pledged with for eight weeks plus our pledge educator :)

This is the morning after our initiation, we're actually not allowed to wear the Greek letters until we cross as Brothers

I joined Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business co-ed fraternity. For everyone that are not familiar with Greek life, don't judge these organizations too harshly until you go to their recruiting events.
Honestly, I was never interested in a social Greek organization, they're expensive, you hear about hazing, etc.

Buut, really, after you attend a university, go check these organizations out if you have time. It's not for everyone, but the way I thought about it... You'll only be able to join once in life, after college there's not that much that's similar to these kinds of Greek organizations.
I am not into partying, so I joined a professional organization. As far as I know, there are different ones for different majors, I've heard of ones for pharmaceutical, engineering, etc. But it all depends on your university.

However, if you are thinking of going to business, I definitely recommend Delta Sigma Pi :)
I go to a commuter school, and this is a great way to meet people and network.
Anywho, this is why I haven't blogged in so long, let me know if you have any questions! My email address and Formspring are on the side if you had any questions about this Greek organization.

Now onto the blogpost:

Sweet Tart (hot pink creme)

The bullet gets smeared on the rims of the lipstick tube, kind of annoying if you're a neat freak, but I'll get over it

Sadly, I am not confident enough to wear a color out like this, maybe when my acne gets better?
I was planning to return this, but after pledging started I kind of forgot about it, maybe I'll try it again and see how I feel.

Also, I purchased some new beauty products over this time period, can't wait to blog about them!

Yayaaaa!

Hi everyone,
So I ordered a laptop off Walmart just today.

YAY!

I actually haven't owned a laptop before this, but since I'm attending college in the fall my dad figured I'll need one, so we got one :)
More pics will be available when I actually get it, which is in at least a week

Also, I'm going to return my Samsung dual-view camera; I've come to realize that it really doesn't take clear pictures, nor does it focus in video. And I shouldn't settle for something like this, since I won't be getting an new one till at least 5 years later, I think.

Honestly though, look at the quality difference between this and my 3.2 MP camera :|

Samsung 12.2 MP

Canon 3.2 MP

I mean ... Hellooo, how could it be so blurry?

So yeah ... However, I did order a webcam w/ my laptop (it doesn't come w/ one) and it's 5 MP, so maybe that'll substitute for video shooting, maybe?

I've been loving these Flipz

They remind me of some kind of candy, w/ red packaging, I forgot what it's called or if it's still available -_-

I promise I'll make a video soon, but I really don't want ppl to see my huge pimple.
Till next time!

Ramble #3

Hi everyone!
So, my skin still looks like crap despite the fact it has been a couple of weeks ... It's mostly this huge cystic acne spot on my right cheek that's not going away. It's hard to cover up as well, so until then ... You probably won't see a video from me.

Anyhow, I visited Ulta today, and I came out with NOTHING. Amazing right? It's 'cos my friend was there to stop me, lol.
Honestly, buying makeup is an addiction, but I don't actually use it, so I should just stop. *sigh*

Anyway, I bought something really random, and surprising for me.

Sorry about the bad picture quality, it was hard for my camera for focus for w/e reason

Anyway, yeah. I saw this ring at Hallmark and I just had to get it. There were other pretty rings too, but this one caught my eye the most. It reminds me of a class ring that I wanted to order, but since it was like $300 .... My family naturally didn't get it. I got this for $21 on a 50% off sale at Hallmart.

So ... I didn't spend $10 on makeup, but I spent $21 on a ring. Great substitution, huh? :P

Anyway, I also ordered the Shiseido eyelash curler from Ebay (again).

I hear it's flatter than the Shu Uemura so it might fit my eye better. If that doesn't work out ... Looks like it's Tweezerman all the way. I'm not putting too much hope into this, it's a recipe for disappointment, but you never know :)

Till next time!

Update

Hi everyone

Guess who finally got a new camera!

It has a dual screen, which is small, but useful since I don't have a camcorder and don't plan on getting one anytime soon.
The shipping order actually came really fast, I ordered it on Wednesday, July 7th, and I selected the Free Super Saver shipping (which takes 5-9 days) and it came on Friday the 9th! I am impressed.
I also bought some accessories along w/ it, a 8 GB memory card, camera case, screen protector ... Which also came faster than they said, I'm liking Amazon more :)
Last time I ordered from them (I think it was the Twilight Saga or some book) it took them like two weeks w/ the Super Saver shipping.

Also, I went to Ross today and got this:

Yup, I don't have sensitive skin, but I couldn't pass this up; and my skin has been acting up a little lately -_- my face looks so blotchy w/ all the acne scars!

The E.L.F. eyeshadow brush & Studio blush in Candid Coral I got at Target a while back and just never put it in a picture (taken by my new camera btw!). So that's why that's there.

Anyhow, my skin looks horrible these days, I literally can't go out w/o makeup (by makeup I mean concealer) b/c it just looks so bad! Gahhh. We'll see if it works out, if not ... It was $10 for a set, so ...

I also just came back from my orientation for college today, it wasn't amazing or super fun, but it was an experience. I chose my classes, and oh, my goodness - I need to sign up earlier next semester! Every other class I was interested in was waitlisted or just simply didn't fit my schedule. Booo.

I was excited about college.
Before we chose classes.

Anyhow, I think that's it for now, hope you all are having a great summer! (Or at least a better one than mine, I haven't done anything summer-related)

Ramble #2

Hi everyone
I felt like writing something today, so here I am.
I've been looking at digital cameras lately (I've been wanting one since perhaps a year ago, just never got it b/c I haven't managed to find a job nor did I get into my dream school). I was looking at this one:
On Amazon it's ~$145 including shipping, which isn't bad for a standard digital camera, but idk if Samsung is awesome for digital cameras, I just know Canon is a good camera brand.
Anyhow, I'll keep you guys updated whether or not I ended up getting this one. It'll be the 1st time I make a purchase using my own money on Amazon. Before it was just my dad paying for books :P (I got the Twilight Saga a while back from Amazon too, only $44 for all 4 books in hardcover!)

The camera I'm currently using is the Canon PowerShot SD110 3.2 MP

I know right, 3.2 megapixel? Excuse the blurriness, for this camera you have to be at a particular distance for the picture to show up clear, which is one of the reasons I wanted a new one
My mother bought this I believe when I was in 5th or 6th grade, so it's been a loooong time (aka 6-7 years).
It only records in 3 minute segments, which means I absolutely have to edit every one of my videos unless it's under 3 minutes (pretty rare considering my rambling). I'm glad I'm replacing this finally, it's just a matter of time when I'll actually order and receive the new camera -_-

That is it for now. Ahhh my skin looks so bad at the moment, I've been breaking out badly.

Ramble.

To begin with, Coco Bella is having a giveaway on her blog, so check that out :)
I also really like my friend Maggie whom I became acquaintances with a while back on Youtube, but she's now a successful blogger!

To my ... rambling.

Makeup facts and/or tips

1. Less IS more: I'm sure all of you have heard this theory, but how does it really work? Well, let's explore that. The concept of using less product has only been popular for the last few years. In the history of cosmetics [because it is very broad, I will only do the 20th century]. Let's start from the 1950s, makeup were caked on actresses and made up their faces. Of course, that was the trend back then; seeing that they were only beginning to utilize more advanced formals for cosmetics, makeup artists had to put much foundation and such on. In modern times, we now go for a more natural look of makeup that enhances our natural features; hence the Less is More theory. Also, instead of covering up something, there are ways to actually improve the look and enhancing it. When someone puts on too much of, let's say, eyeliner, it is possible that the eyeliner looks too obvious, like if they lined the bottom lashes. Therefore ruining the idea of looking natural. However, if that same someone put on only eyeliner on their top lashes and left it there, it actually makes the eyes pop more and look a lot more natural. The same goes for all other cosmetics; so next time you're about to line the bottom lashes of your eyes, think about it; do you really want to make it obvious that you're wearing eyeliner?

Example:

2. The high-end brands aren't the only brands that have high quality: Of course, seeing this, I'm sure most people still think that high-end brands are still better than drugstore brands and such. However, most of the time, people buy cosmetics from high end brands for the brand name. The reason why high end brands are so much more expensive is because they spend a lot more money on the packaging. Hence, the pretty and more sophisticated look of your lipstick from Christian Dior, compared to your cheaper lipstick from Maybelline.

versus

Other than the packaging, they also spend more money on buying supposedly better quality pigments and ingredients.
Now the real question is, are they actually worth it? Of course they could be, but it really depends on your standards. I am sure that a woman with sufficient income is bound to try one of those high-end products from Sephora; but is she actually paying for the product or the brand name and materials used to make the container of the product? That's for her to decide.
Now, this fact is, in general, true for most high-end brands, there are exceptions. However, most ingredients used in drugstore brands and high-end brands are similar; and most likely, they will produce the same effect. Whether it's worth it or not is for you to decide.
