LIPSTICK | NARS Audacious lipstick

in Juliette

Magnetic closure
I love little details like this
This is a pink coral, which can look a bit neon if you apply too much. This is 1 swipe which I think is much more wearable, esp if you're not comfortable with super bright colors
The lipstick is quite pigmented, probably my 2nd favorite high end lipstick after the YSL (review here). I tried Juliette in stores for several months before I finally decided to order it at 20% off.

$34 for 0.14 oz / 4 g
This was $32 when I bought it, oh how prices increase

For such an expensive lipstick, if you LOVE a color I'd say get it. Otherwise it's always good to wait for the Sephora sale

LIP GLOSS | NARS Lip Gloss in Aragon

I actually haven't bought lip gloss in over 2 years, as I am more into lipsticks now. But I saw a Taiwanese Youtuber talk about this, saying it's such a unique color. Aragon is actually only available from NARS boutiques and not Sephora or Ulta, so that makes it more unique as well.

EYES | NARS eyelash curler

My Shiseido lash curler pad was getting dull, so I figured I could try a new lash curler while waiting for the new pads to come in.
Unfortunately, the NARS is too curvy for my flatter Asian eyes

The Shiseido is the perfect curve for me. If your eyes protrude from your eye socket more and most eyelash curlers work for you, the NARS probably will too.

I always want to like NARS since their packaging is so sleek, but this one's a no go :(

REVIEW | NARS Radiant Creamy concealer

Acne scars

~8hrs later. I had set it with the Pur Minerals powder foundation

Bumpy acne spots

Pros
Good coverage
Creamy

Cons
Looks bad on large pores
Seems to oxidize a little
Kind of melts and breaks down if you have oily skin

Price
$29 for 0.22 oz / 6 ml

Verdict
Rating: B+
I got this as a gift last month. A lot of Youtubers seem to rave about this, namely MissGlamorazzi. The stopper for the sponge applicator seems very effective, I could only get product on the tip of the sponge. The concealer itself has a creamy consistency, it's thick but not so thick it looks cakey. However, around my nose where my pores are huge, this concealer does not cover or settle in well. I notice most American foundations and concealers seem to do that. Most people would probably wear a primer or foundation underneath, but I like to just wear concealer sometimes to avoid piling a bunch of products on my acne.

Repurchase?
No.

Would I recommend it?
Yes. Yes, if you have the budget and don't intend to use it by itself. Plus there are drugstore concealers that are just as good (e.g. Maybelline Master Conceal (review here))

SWATCH | NARS Satin/Velvet Matte Lip Pencils (Sephora Birthday Gift 2015)

Here's what the container it comes in looks like

Velvet Matte - Cruella (scarlet red)

Satin Lip Pencil - Rikugien (rose pink)

Pros
Lightweight
Pigmented
Creamy
Easy to control application

Cons
Not twist up
Expensive

Price
$26 for 0.086 oz (full size)
These deluxe samples are 0.05 oz / 1.7 g

Verdict
I probably wouldn't buy these if it wasn't free, but I do like the colors they give you.
Cruella is kind of a snow white red on my complexion, not a dark red as a swatch seems to show. Rikugien is surprisingly a natural pink color, I thought it was going to be frosty when I swatched it.

Purchase?
Mayyybe the peach color.

Would I recommend it?
Yes, but I personally wouldn't spend $26 on a lip product unless I LOVED the color and couldn't find it in any drugstore brand.
