Hi everyone,
As you may or may not already know, I am a HUGE drugstore junkie. Mostly because it's a good price for good quality (when you find the good products) and the sales make me feel much better about buying makeup.
However, since I started working at Macy's, I've been fantasizing more about high-end makeup, mostly since I get a discount.
Anyhow, I got the basics of the MAC collection today, take a look
MAC Prep + Prime translucent setting powder ($22)
For some reason recently I've been wanting to try a powder like this (containing silica, finely milled white powder)
I wanted the one from E.L.F. but waiting for their sales is taking forever, and I also have to wait for shipping, so today while walking through the makeup counters... I decided to just pick up MAC.
I think I will still pick up the E.L.F. HD powder to do a comparison and see if the MAC one is worthy of future purchases, but for now, 9 g will last me quite a while.
(excuse the photo quality, for some reason there's a cast over this photo)
MAC Matte ($18)
To my surprise, this actually contains 0.84 oz (on the MAC website it says 0.75 oz) so I assume MAC down-sized their products to keep the same prices but certain stores still have the product amount. (Same with the powder, MAC website says 8 g instead of 9 g)
I've heard from both MakeupGeek and Petrilude on Youtube that this is a great foundation primer and just oil-controlling product that also fills in pores, kind of sold me since I have huge pores around my nose which is also oily.
Anyhow, I know this isn't anything exciting but I can't really bring myself to buy a MAC lipstick or lip gloss when I have SO much of those already from the drugstore. These products on the other hand, would actually prove useful rather than just sit in a corner somewhere like most of my makeup.
Till next time :)
nice haul!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to hear how they work for you..especially if you do compare the mac powder to the elf powder :D
@mandy Thanks! I'll be doing that comparison once E.L.F. has like 50% off sale on Studio products or something, haha :)
ReplyDeleteGreat products!! Hope they all work well!
ReplyDelete@rakhshanda Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have never bought MAC products with my ownn money yet, the only product I own is Lazy Day Lustre Lipstick, and I was lucky enough to win it in a giveaway (=
ReplyDelete@ G A B Y Haha, if you ever work retail at a department store maybe you'll make your 1st purchase like I did :)
