Drugstore Lipstick overview

Contents:
- Maybelline MoistureExtreme in - Cool Watermelon (bright coral) , Petal (fuchsia), Nude Blush (pink/peach nude), Sugar Plum Ice (frosty pink nude), Born With It (medium pink w/ golden sheen) - my favorite out of all my lipsticks, they're very moisturizing, smooth, has SPF 15, and inexpensive. The only thing I could pick out that I don't like is that it is since it is so moisturizing, it doesn't last long.
Maybelline Mineral Power lipstick in Sand (shimmery nude) - one of their newer lines, this lipstick is actually kind of sheer but is smooth and not drying. The only reasons I would not recommend this is b/c they have a very limited color selection, around 13 or less the last time I checked, it's slightly more expensive than the MoistureExtreme.
- Maybelline Volume XL Seduction Lip Plumper in In the Nude (peachy nude) - My lips are already kind of fat, so this didn't plump them a lot or anything. I did notice that it burned really badly the first time I used it, but after 2-3 uses, it faded to more of a tingly sensation, although not as comfortable as a minty lip balm. I wouldn't recommend this as a lipstick b/c the color is pretty sheer, unless you like the feeling of "needles" on your lips, don't get this.
- CoverGirl TruShine lipstick in - Coral Shine, Watermelon Shine (raspberry fuchsia) - I didn't get a good first impression of this, since it smells like plastic and looks like there's a lot of chunky glitter in it. However, after using it a couple of times, I found it really isn't as bad as I thought; it is not drying and it gives a nice sheen when applied to the lips, nothing like a lip gloss, but still pretty.
- L'Oreal HiP Intensely Moisturizing lipstick in Moxie (mauve pink w/ golden shimmer) - Discontinued in the HiP line. This is the lightest color I saw, almost identical to Rimmel's Airy Fairy. The lipstick itself is moisturizing, and it smells like caramel and vanilla combined. The packaging is nice, but it was very expensive ($10 retail) so I wouldn't purchase this unless it was on sale.
- Wet `n Wild Lipstick in 501B Tokyo-a-Pink-Pink (medium cream pink) - One of the cheapest lipsticks out there, this is actually very creamy, but the lipstick does not twist all the way in into the tube, which could be a problem when you're in a hurry and just need to put this on. The color selection that I remember of was very limited, not a lot of shades that I thought were pretty, but for a dollar, you can probably let that go.

Contents:
- New York Color N.Y.C. Ultra Moist lipstick in Petal (slightly frosty light pink) - 2nd to lightest pink color in the selection. The texture is slightly moisturizing, definitely not drying. It smells kind of like Swedish Fish & plastic, which I kind of like. It has the same problem of not twisting into the tube like Wet `n Wild. There's another like that's the "Ultra Wear" or something, which is more like a pointy tip rather than the traditional slant-tip.
- NYX Round lipstick in - Black Cherry (dark red plum), Harmonica (frosty pink w/ lilac undertone), Thalia (mauve) - Technically not drugstore, but I've seen it in Longs Drugs/CVS and also Ulta, which sells drugstore makeup, so I'm counting it as drugstore. These lipsticks are very smooth, somewhat moisturizing, and lasts a decent amount of time. The only gripe I have is that these are made in China, and although I am Chinese ... I'm sure we all know about the lead standards not being very strict, especially with cosmetics. The color selection is very large, and they have many unique colors. Harmonica is kind of like Revlon's Silver City Pink, but with less pink tones
- Revlon Beyond Natural Liptint SPF 15 in Peach, Neutral Pink (mauve pink) - Flat-round-top instead of the regular slant tip, this would seem like a tinted lip balm, but it's actually a lipstick. Like seen in the name, it has SPF 15, which is always nice in the summer when you're getting a lot of sun. These are smooth and moisturizing, but the color selection is limited. Peach is a very orange-toned color, which does not suit my yellow undertones well, but with a pink lipgloss on top, it looks flattering. Packaging is mediocre, nothing special, but the product itself is great.
- Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude (skin tone nude), Pink Pout (lilac pink), Mauve About It (mauve pink) - from Revlon's new matte line, these lipsticks are very drying, and not very smooth w/o a lip balm. Very hard to wear by themselves b/c they are so matte, I usually use a lipgloss on top so it looks less dull. The color selection is once again, limited, but it is a fairly new line. Nude Attitude is probably the lightest concealer nude you will find in a drugstore, so it's good to pair with a smokey eye. Pink Pout is very unique b/c it has lavender tones to it, which is quite pretty. Mauve About It is actually more of a nude pink than a mauve color, but it's nice for everyday wear.
- Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Silver City Pink (frosty light pink), Almost Nude (peachy nude) - Kind of disappointed with this product b/c it is slightly drying and not very smooth, but they have a great color selection and very classy packaging. Silver City Pink is a very frosty pink color, and Almost Nude is kind of a apricot-tinted brown nude, which I didn't really like at first, but it kind of grew on me.

Contents:
- Rimmel Lasting Finish in Airy Fairy (mauve pink w/ golden shimmer), Crush (shimmery orange) - First thing that hit me was the smell, kind of reminds me of cherry fluoride that the dentist rubs on my teeth, which isn't really pleasant. The colors are very unique, the pinks are mixed with other shades to create a universally flattering shade. The ones I own, Airy Fairy, is a mauve-pink with golden shimmer, very pretty but sometimes too cool-toned if worn with no blush. Crush is a orange-toned lipstick with shimmer, not flattering w/ yellow undertones once again, but with a gloss on top, it's not that bad. The texture is nice & creamy, but I find it gets kind of drying. Lasting power is mediocre, nothing like the claims. This is the cheapest lipstick you will find in drugstores that's not made in China.
